Giant slalom on the Chuenisbärgli
We start the new year with a lot of momentum. Marco Odermatt once again set off a firework display of highlights at the end of the year and has already set new superlatives in 2022!
After being voted Sportsman of the Year in mid-December, he skied to his first downhill podium in Bormio on arguably the most difficult downhill slope in the World Cup and ended 2021 as the clear leader in the overall World Cup and in the giant slalom discipline rankings. His giant slalom record of five first and two second places in the last eight races, with the first Swiss victory in 14 years at Chuenisbärgli in Adelboden, seems truly uncanny. With the Winter Olympics in Beijing, the big highlight of this season is still to come - if the global health situation allows it. We are looking forward to the next races with confidence!
