Tips & tricks for independent service

Our many years of experience in pool construction and service have taught us that pool care and maintenance are crucial to ensure years of enjoyment and crystal-clear water. On these pages you will find a wealth of know-how and useful instructions to enable you to carry out service work yourself if necessary.

You can switch off the swimming pool pump via the interface housing by setting the switch to «0».

Otherwise, you can switch off the pump fuse.

First switch off the filter pump. Make a note of the slider setting on the filter system in advance. Then close the sliders:

  • Bottom suction
  • Skimmer suction
  • Nozzle line
  • Jet pipe

Open the pump pre-filter strainer and remove the strainer. Open the filter pump with the key/lever.

Clean the strainer with a hose or in the sink. Then reinstall the strainer and close the pump cover with normal force. Make sure that there is no dirt or sand between the cover and the seal. Open all sliders back to the marked position. Now switch the pump back on and stay with the system for around 3 - 4 minutes so that you can quickly notice any leaking water.

IMPORTANT!

DO NOT attempt to open or close the cover several times if there is a problem. Check the roller shutter control first.
You can read the error message on the shutter control unit display. Check whether the control unit has power. Switch the fuse for the cover off and on again. This may clear the fault. Check the water level. This should be approximately in the middle of the skimmer.

Contact us before the cover becomes completely tangled.

Clean the skimmer and pump strainer. Check the swimming pool pump for abnormal noises.

Check that all sliders are in the correct position. When was the sand in the sand filter last changed?

The alarm AL3 means that the dosing time of the Ph-Minus has been exceeded. Check whether the Ph-Minus canister is empty.

If it still has enough liquid, check the pH value of the pool water by hand. This should be between 7.0 - 7.4.

If the value does not match the measurement on the device, the probe may need to be recalibrated or even replaced. Please have this work carried out by employees of Vita Bad AG.

If the value matches the device +/-, acknowledge the alarm by pressing the return button on the control unit once. The pH dosing pump then switches back on after 15 minutes and lowers the pH value in the pool to the set target value.

The FL1 alarm means that the flow in the system is not guaranteed. Check whether you are within the filter times.

Summer time: 06.00 - 22.00
Winter time: 08.00 - 20.00

Make sure that the pump is switched on.

Hydrolysis produces the necessary disinfection in the water with the help of the salt in the pool. With the set redox target value of 680, we determine the maximum level at which the water should be disinfected.

As soon as this value is reached, the hydrolysis stops (=0%) as it no longer needs to produce. However, if the target value 680 has not yet been reached, the hydrolysis must run at 60%.

If the hydrolysis is at 0% but is still below the set value, the filter pump may not be running due to the filter times.

Check the hydrolysis cell for limescale deposits. These are easily visible through the Plexiglas tube.

If there is no limescale, it means that there is too little salt in the pool.

Add salt to your pool according to the following calculation:

Per missing 10% up to 60% - 1 kg of salt per 10m3 of water

This means, for example, that with 30m3 of water and a hydrolysis capacity of 45%, 15% are missing up to the maximum capacity of 60%.
If 15% is missing, this results in 1.5 kg per 10m3 = 1.5 x 3 (3 x 10m3) = 4.5 kg salt
